Mary Jane began her career in education as an adjunct instructor, teaching in three departments at Appalachian State University. The birth of her daughter ignited a desire for a career in Medicine, and Mary Jane completed her RN program while she continued to teach at the university. Enjoying her role as an RN in Labor and Delivery, she found her patient advocate/educator calling further fulfilled by becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife, joining a busy OB/GYN practice in Fredericksburg, VA.
After her husband retired, she and her family moved to the Missouri Ozarks where Mary Jane worked 10 years as clinical practitioner at a Title X family planning clinic, providing education and services to clients in central Missouri. She has been an APRN since 2003.
Like many other green nurses, Cannabis Nursing reached out to Mary Jane after family members asked her about alternative/holistic treatments for their varied and wide-ranging conditions. Introduced to the amazing science of Cannabis Nursing, she continues to be a proud provider, supporter and advocate of Cannabis Education, Information and Access.
