I have been a Registered Nurse for 13 years, specializing in Psychiatric nursing. I began my career in the medical field as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy a long time ago. It took me a while but I started my nursing career in my early thirties. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and my Master’s degree, in Nursing Leadership, from Western Governors University. In 2020, I fulfilled a life-long goal of becoming a certified yoga instructor, and this year I have become a Green Nurse with Holistic Caring. I am currently taking classes at Pacific College to complete the Medical Cannabis Care Certificate. I will be graduating in October 2021.
My experience spans from patient care in the Behavioral health inpatient setting, the Psychiatric emergency department, and office settings. I also have experience as a supervisor and educator. Currently, I work in a clinic setting where I administer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Ketamine treatments.
I am a huge advocate for the mental health population. I am a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the local NAMI Austin, TX group.
I have been married to my high-school sweetheart for almost 26 years. We have two adult children. My hobbies are yoga, being with my family, traveling, and dancing as much as I can!
